If you don’t have the necessary base to join us right out of the gates, we recommend getting some “practice” under your belt to prepare for the training ahead. This schedule assumes that you are in “okay” shape, but have not been running much in the last few months (or longer)
4 Week Prep / Beginner Schedule
This 4 week program is designed to prepare a beginner runner for a running only training program getting you ready to join a typical 12-18 week training program that runs 3-4x per week with a 4-5 mile long run and total 15-18 miles per week.
- Assumes you already have time on your feet and close to running full time up to 3mi, 3x per week
- If not, incorporate some intervals (INT) within the runs.
Based on 2011’s Schedule, this prep program would begin on Monday, May 2, 2011.
